Chef's Top Tip:
“Why not add a sprig of rosemary and a clove of garlic to the frying pan when cooking the steak, and at the last minute, add a knob of butter to give some extra richness. Once cooked, always leave the meat to rest to allow it to relax before serving”.
Cooking instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180c / 160c (fan) / gas mark 4
- Remove the steaks from the packaging and allow to come to room temperature
- Remove the triple-cooked chips from the bag and place onto a baking tray/earthenware dish and place in the oven for 20-30 mins
- After 20 mins, place mushrooms and tomato on a baking tray and cook in the oven for 10 mins
- Pour the peppercorn sauce into a saucepan and bring to boil on a medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, turn down heat and keep simmering
- Season the steaks generously all over with fine salt and pepper
- Heat 1 tbsp. of sunflower oil in a large frying pan over a high heat
- Cook the steak to your liking following the recommended times:
Rare: 1-2 mins per side, rest for 6 mins
Medium: 3 mins per side, rest for 4 mins
Well done: 4-5 mins per side, rest for 1 min
- Take the bag containing the broccoli, pierce it slightly and reheat in your microwave for 2-3 mins until hot. Leave to stand for 1 min. Alternatively you can place the bag containing the vegetables into a pan of simmering water for 6-8 mins until hot (if using the water method do not pierce the bag)
- Serve the steak, vegetables and potato either on a serving platter or onto individual plates
- Pour sauce into a serving jug and enjoy
If you wish to heat up the food using another method that you feel more comfortable with then please use that method.
