Moroccan-style lamb tagine with buckwheat

The lamb is cooked until tender in aromatic spices and sweet apricots. This Moroccan-style dish is inspired by the classic flavours of North African cooking, topped with sliced chilli, spring onion and coriander and served with the highly nutritious whole grain buckwheat.

Additional information

Lamb tagine: lamb, garlic, onion, tomato, salt, sugar, turmeric, chilli, ginger, coriander, cinnamon, saffron, celery, apricots (sulphites)


Cracked buckwheat: buckwheat (gluten), salt, pepper, olive oil


Carrots: carrots, olive oil, honey, thyme garlic, cumin, salt and pepper


Garnish: sliced red chilli, spring onion, coriander

Cooking/plating instructions


To cook
  1. Remove the lid from the tagine and reheat in the microwave for 4-5 minutes until piping hot. Leave to stand for 1 minute
  2. Remove the lid of the buckwheat, microwave for 2-3 minutes and leave to stand for 1 minute  
  3. Remove the lid of the carrots, microwave for 1-2 minutes and leave stand for 1 minute


To serve

  1. Spoon the tagine and the buckwheat into a warm serving plate/bowl
  2. Sprinkle with the sliced chilli, spring onion and coriander, serve and enjoy
